This abstract oil painting from the collection 2022 is in a style the artist calls “evocative abstract”. The rhythmic composition features mark making and a finessed colour palette – in combination with charcoal, oil sticks and graphite. There is a transparency usually associated with aquarel, allowing Eremeeva to exploit subtly nuanced and balanced components and so create an alluring visual expression. Impasto and sand give a texturally rich aesthetic, releasing deeper and more emotional reactions from viewers. As with all her works, the title incites the viewer’s curiosity and encourages a deeper examination of the piece.

“I strive to transform ideas into emotion, expressed by texture and rhythm … I want the painting to evoke feelings, memories and images – stimulating an emotive recall to the conscious mind of the viewer.”
